Christian Parsons. Interaction designer, game developer and researcher. He works making digital artifacts and ludic interfaces, tangible and natural interaction, video games, computer graphics and live visuals. He was born in Buenos Aires (1980), Argentina and is living in Lisbon, Portugal. He currently develops his open-source project Cámara Lúcida, a tool to make digital devices based on real-time projection mapping, makes videogames for the industry, live visuals for opera and works at the university in R&D and teaching interaction design. Former fellow of the Antorchas Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts of Argentina, MediaLab of the Spanish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, Arteleku/MediaLab Prado Interactivos? Workshop, Telefonica Foundation's Interactive Workshop, Metropolitan Fund of the Buenos Aires City Government, Southern Theater Foundation, Artist in residence in CheLA (Latinamerican Center of Experimental Hypermedia) supported by the UCLA University of California Program on Digital Cultures. His works have been exhibited and award winning at national and international events, like Piksel (Norway), Arteleku (Basque Country), Biennale dell Immagine (Chiasso, Switzerland), Videobrasil (Sao Paulo), VAD Festival (Girona, Spain), L'Antic Teatre (Barcelona, Spain), Itaú Cultural Buenos Aires, Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, Telefónica Foundation, Cultural Center of Spain in Buenos Aires, Recoleta Cultural Center (Buenos Aires), San Martín Cultural Center (Buenos Aires), Castagnino Museum (Rosario, Argentina), Electronic Art Festival of Rio Gallegos Argentina, Theatre Complex of Buenos Aires, among others. He also works within the academic field in R&D and teaching for the National Institute of Arts, IUNA and he has formerly worked for the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism, FADU, UBA. |
